With reference to your letter No. F.2007/
37/10 of the 23rd April, regarding the proposed
Hong Kong - China Customs Agreement, I am directed by Lord Passfield to state, for the information of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, that he agrees to the substitution of the sentence quoted in the Foreign Office letter to the Board of Trade of the 16th April for the last paragraph of
the draft telegram enclosed in the letter from this
Office No. 72751/30 of the 22nd April.
2. I am to request that Lord Passfield may be immediately informed if Mr. Henderson agrees to the
despatch of a telegram to His Majesty's Minister in the terms of that draft as amended, in order that a
telegram may be sent accordingly to the Officer Administering the Government of Hong Kong.
